In 1983 a passion for the highest quality bespoke furniture lead Andrew Gibbens to form a company committed to producing furniture that stood out from the crowd, not only through the excellent craftsmanship but through the use of both exotic and traditional materials.
A keen eye for design and an ability to work with a wealth of materials make Andrew Gibbens' furniture truly unique. As popularity for Andrew's furniture grew he begun the transition from a small, humble workshop to his current 500m2 state of the art facility.
A love of wood and a flair for the exceptional has resulted in many unique commissions from individual pieces of furniture to entire fitted rooms. Special attention is paid to finish and texture to enhance the natural beauty of each custom piece of furniture.
This extends from the use of traditional woods such as European Oak and Walnut to the more bold and exotics such as Macassar Ebony and Serpent wood.
The team consists of highly skilled craftsmen each with their own area of expertise. As a consequence the finished product reflects a collective effort and pride. An example of our ability to create completely bespoke, one off commissions for any application was this commission, a stand for a didgeridoo. We were given the instrument with the brief of creating a stand. This is a fantastic example of us working with a "blank canvas".
